James Timothy (Tim) Allen, 79, formerly of West Burlington, died at his son's home on Nov. 19, 2006.

Born in Burlington, on May 5, 1927, he was the son of Herbert and Rose Donahue Allen. He married Gladys Thrasher on Sept. 16, 1944, in Monmouth, Ill. She preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 1995.

Born and raised in Burlington, IA, he drove over the road for H.B. Green and Allied Van Lines for several years and when he retired. He had been driving for Mason and Hanger for many years.

Tim was a member of the Eagles Club in Burlington. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing along the Mississippi River.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Mike) McFarland of Racine, WI; one son, Tim (Toni) of Swan Creek, IL.; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer (Christian) Kuehnau of Wisconsin and Sarah (Daniel) Leemon of Tennessee; two great–granddaughters; twin brother, Jim (Opal) of Burlington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

Graveside services were held with, Pastor Dan Buck officiating.
