Wilbur Trimble, 90, of Burlington died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Burlington Care Center.

Born April 13, 1917, in Burlington, he was the son of Noah and Katherine Thomson Trimble. On July 24, 1941, he married Irene Crow in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Trimble was a farmer in the Burlington area. He served with the Army during World War II as a machine gunner on an ammunitions truck. He moved into town in June of 1997, after a fire destroy their farmhouse while they were visiting their son in Texas. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. He was active in Golden Oldies.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Gary Trimble of Duncanville, Texas; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and his twin sister.

The funeral for Mr. Trimble will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will be at North Walker Cemetery
