Elgin Echo, Thursday, 1 May 1902.

An accident that resulted in the death of a Mr. Cole who lives on a farm north of Masonville occurred Wednesday of last week. Mr. Cole was returning from town with a load of coal when a tire ran off from one of the wheels. He got off to replace the tire and was working between the wheels when his team became frightened and in trying to stop them was thrown under the wheels and they passed over him breaking his neck.
