HARTMAN –At his home in Decatur County, Iowa near Davis City, Monday, October 2, 1899, William Hartman.
Deceased was born in Green Castle, Pennsylvania, March 7, 1849. He came to Decatur County, Iowa, about 42 years ago. He was married to Eliza E. Driskell, in Decatur County, Iowa, in October 1862. To this union ten children were born, six of them still are living and four are dead.
He joined the L.D.S. church in June, 1874, and lived a faithful and devoted Christian life.
The funeral occurred from the home Tuesday afternoon of this week, Elder R.S. Salyards preaching the sermon, being assisted in the service by Elder Eli Hayer.
The burial took place at the Davis City, and was attended by a very large con course of neighbors and friends. Mr. Hartman was very widely known, and beloved by those who had the pleasure of an intimate acquaintance.
