At the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Petticord, who resides five miles north of Leon, occurred a happy family reunion on Sunday, July 27, 1913. The family of nine children with their father and mother surrounded the dinner table for the first time in sixteen years. It was the first time the youngest son, Claude, ever saw all of his brothers and sisters at home together at one time.
After partaking of a bountiful dinner the time was spent in a social way. Photographs were taken of different groups during the afternoon. Refreshments of lemonade, ice cream and cake were served. After enjoying themselves until a late hour the guests departed for their homes. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. John Petticord, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Petticord and family of Osceola, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Petticord and family of near Decatur City, Mr. and Mrs. Will Petticord and family of Decatur City, Mrs. Anna Passwater and children of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Logan Petticord of Bloomington, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Bigger and family of near Van Wert, Mr. and Mrs. Elvia Petticord and family of near Decatur City, Fred and Claude who reside at home, Mr. Bigger of Bloomington, Illinois, father of P. H. Bigger, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Duffield and daughter Anna of near Garden Grove, Mr. Earnest Nordyke of near Leon and Mr. Horace Millsap of near Decatur City.
