Funeral held for Sample

Funeral services were held Monday for John F. Sample, 90, who died at 6:40 a.m. Saturday at Bloomfield Manor. He was a retired farmer.

The funeral was conducted at the Wagler Funeral Home by the Rev. Harold Baker. Burial was in the Sherman Chapel Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 14, 1884 in Davis County to John H. and Catherine Dawson Sample. He was affiliated with the Sherman Chapel Church.

He married Myrtle Shephered on Jan. 14, 1906 in Bloomfield. She preceded him in death as did two sons, one daughter, three grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Grace Hartley, Mrs. Freda Dooley and Mrs. Opal Blew, all of Bloomfield; five sons, Ralph, Don, Glenn and Wayne, all of Bloomfield, and Hugh of Marion; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
