RETHA MAYE FOSTER

Retha Maye Foster, 81, of Kelley, died Saturday, December 22, 1990, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of kidney failure.

Mrs. Foster was born in Milton, MO. on August 17, 1909 to Emmett and Alice (Thompson) Kittle. She had also lived in Bloomfield. She was united in marriage to "Happ" Lenn Foster March 1, 1928. They had lived in Kelley since the 1950's. She had worked at the Slater Creamery and as a seamstress for Collegiat Manufacturing and Nichols Wrestling Equipment.

Survivors include a step-son, Barney Foster of Clarence, MO; two stepdaughters, Virginia Allemand and Neva Mosher of California; two step-daughters-in-law, Lois Foster and Berniece Foster, two sisters, Dixie Clark of Grinnell and Catherine Madsen of Burlington; a brother, Tom Houlihan of Leon; two sisters-in-law, Sally Kittle of California and Ulah Golob of Melrose; and several stepgrandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, december 28, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley with Rev. Dale Ullastad-Heneke officiating.

Burial was in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.

Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or the Dialysis Unit of Mary Greeley Medical Center.
