Margaret Murphy, 83, of Menlo died of complications of a stroke Tuesday at Adair County Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at First Congregational Church in Stuart, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Ottumwa and moved to Menlo in 1948 from Dexter. She was a homemaker and worked for Avon and Look magazine.

She is survived by her husband, Rex; three sons, Keith of ST. Charles, Leo of Prescott, Ariz., and Gene of Menlo; two daughters, Joy Bassett of Waukee and Faye Edgington of Panora; a sister, Jennetta Green of Royal; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
