KIRON...Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Goetsch, 77, were held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, June 2, 1973 at the Evangelical Free Church at Kiron. The Rev. Calvin Archer officiated. Mrs. Richard Gustafson was organist. Wayne Lindskoog sang "Beyond the Sunset" and Rev. Archer sang "Just A Closer Walk With Thee."

Burial was in the Kiron Cemetery with Arthur Anderson, Wilbur Anderson, Lloyd Benson, Willard Carlson, Elmer Mauritz and Jom Quade the attendants.

Esther Marie Goetsch, daughter of the late Carl C. and Hannah Johnston Carlson was born on a farm in Crawford County near Kiron, Iowa, May 31, 1896 and died Thursday, May 31, 1973.

June 6, 1917, she was married to Glen Goetsch of Kiron at the Evangelical Free Church. They had two daughters and three sons. They made their home on farms near Kiron, later moving to Des Moines. Mr. Goetsch died September 16, 1972 at which time Mrs. Goetsch made her home with her son, Dennis, in Chariton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, one son, Dale Francis; two sisters, Selma and Edith and one brother, Walter.

Survivors include two daughters; Dorothy, Mrs. Ben Heiny of Waukee, Donna, Mrs. Gage Swanson of Webster City, two sons: Darrell, of Fort Worth, Texas; Dennis of Chariton; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
