Services for Emil C. Carlson, 90, of Ida Grove were at 2 p.m. last Thursday, 20 Nov 1980 at the Arthur Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Robert Lundberg officiating. Burial was in the Hayes Township Cemetery near Arthur under the direction of the Christensen Funeral Home of Ida Grove.

Mr. Carlson died Tuesday, 18 Nov 1980 in Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove. He was born 21 Feb 1890 in Hayes Township of Ida County. He was an Army veteran of World War I, serving in France in the Meuse Argonne Offensive. He married Edith A. Hardy 11 Feb 1922 at Sac City. He was a lifelong area farmer, retiring in 1957. He moved into Ida Grove in June of 1980. Mr. Carlson was a member of the Arthur Evangelical Free Church.

Survivors include: the widow; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Delphine (Leila) Kolb of Ida Grove; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
