Mr. Carlson who was making his home at Aurora, Nebraska came here five weeks ago when his children drove to Aurora and brought him here. He had been sick for some time and unable to care for himself. His children have given him their tender care the time spent here.

Carl Gustaf Carlson was born 10 June 1856 in Kalmar Län, Småland, Sweden and died 23 September 1932 at the age of 76 years 3 months and 10 days. He came to America and directly to this community in 1881. On 22 Feb. 1884 he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Johnston. To this union was born six children, 2 sons and four daughters. He leaves to mourn his departure three children, Selma, Mrs. Axel Bloom and Walter Carlson of Kiron and Esther, Mrs. Glen Goetsch of Odebolt. Three of the children preceded him in death, Alfred Bernard at the age of 4 years, Agnes Amelia age 6 years and Edith, Mrs. A. Bloom at the age of 23 years. He also leaves seven grand children, other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. Carlson lived in this community, engaged in farming until about twenty years ago when he moved to Aurora, Nebraska, which has been his home up to the time he came out here. He was converted while in Sweden. He lived a respectable life and gained a large number of friends both in this community and in Aurora, Nebraska. Mr. Carlson was a righteous man. He lived a good life and after he became ill, his greatest desire was to go to his heavenly home. He died peacefully trusting in his Savior.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Evangelical Free Church conducted by the pastor, Rev. H. A. Faugerstrom. The church was filled with friends and relatives who came to pay the last tribute to the departed brother. The floral offerings were beautiful.
