Kavanaugh Family

I am researching the Owen Kavanaugh family who lived in Deep Creek Township in 1870. I also found them in the 1856 Iowa Census in Camanche, although the surname was spelled Cavenaugh in this census. My 2nd great grandmother Maggie was their youngest child, she was adopted by a family named Bachelor and lived in Woodbury County in 1880. I have not been able to determine what happened to the Kavanaugh family. Any help would be much appreciated.
