The Clinton Herald Thursday February 3, 1933 p. 5 Alvin E. Pinney, 2008 Garfield street, of the Pinney Printing company and long time resident in the north-end, died suddenly at 7:15 o'clock Wednesday night in the State University hospital in Iowa City, where he had been a patient since Tuesday. Heart failure was the cause of his sudden death, however, he was stricken ill about two weeks ago, but apparently had recovered and left Tuesday for Iowa City, for further treatment. No funeral plans have been announced other than services will be held Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Frederic G. Williams of Grace church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Surviving him are his widow, one son, Byron R. Pinney and wife, and a granddaughter, Patricia, of this city. The body arrived this morning from Iowa City, and is at the Wayne L. Shadduck funeral home, awaiting the arrival of the family late this afternoon from Iowa City.
