The Clinton Herald Tuesday February 23, 1954 p. 11 Clarence H. Luckstead, 51, of 948 S. 10th St., died suddenly in his home at 8 p.m. Monday after a brief illness. The body is at the Snell funeral home where friends may call beginning at 7:30 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Elvira Zion Lutheran church, with Rev. William Biederman officiating. A prayer service at the funeral home is planned for 1 p.m. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park. He was born Dec. 24, 1902, on a farm near DeWitt, a son of Chris and Dena Reiling Luckstead. He attended rural schools and married Louise Hoffman on Feb. 15, 1933. He was a member of the Elvira Zion Lutheran church and the brotherhood of the church. For 17 years he farmed near Camanche, coming to Clinton two years ago. since that time he had been employed by the county highway department. Surviving are his wife; his father; a daughter, Barbara, at home; two sisters, Mary of Clinton, and Mrs. Henry (Elfrieda) Pehl of near DeWitt; and two brothers, Fred and Arnold Luckstead, both of Clinton.
