CLINTON — Bernell A. Larson, 76, of Clinton, IA, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009, at his home. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, with Pastor Michael Holm of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Bernell Arnold Larson was born near Dubuque in Clayton County on September 3, 1932, to Bjarne and Renetta (Ruroden) Larson. He was a 1952 graduate of Elgin High School and of Coyne College in Chicago majoring in Television Technology. He married Velma Christianson on December 27, 1954, in Clayton County. Bernell served in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserves. He worked as a Radio/Television Technician and also worked at the Music Box. Bernell was a member of the American Legion and of Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Velma of Clinton; two daughters, Lori (Anthony) Baratta of Dixon, IL, and Tracy (Thomas) Clasen of Cedar Rapids, IA; two sons, Timothy (Denise) Larson of West Des Moines, IA, and Chad (Charlotte) Larson of Killeen, TX; eight grandchildren; one brother, Arthur (Marilyn) Larson of Sumner, IA; and one sister, Alta Parkin of Bettendorf, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.Memorials are being established by the family.Death date: Jan. 3, 2009
