BRADENTON, Fla. — Reginold “Reggie” Paul Everson, 56, of Bradenton, Florida, died on January 10, 2009, in his home after a long, brave battle with colon cancer.A celebration of his life was held in Brandenton, Florida, on January 17. Arrangements will be made at a later date in Clinton for family and friends to remember him. Reggie was born in Clinton, Iowa, on April 15, 1952. He was the son of Clifford and Alice Everson.Reggie attended Clinton schools and worked for many years in Clinton for the city and the department of Parks and Recreation before moving to Bradenton.He was employed with the City of Bradenton for the last 20 years. He enjoyed playing softball and golf as well as riding his Harley “Big Red” and hanging out with his best friend and wife.Reggie was a loving husband, father, brother, son and a friend to many. He was well known for his kindness and boiterous laugh. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was a part of his wonderful life.He is survived by his mother, Alice Piper; wife and soulmate, Carol; 3 brothers and spouses, Ronald (Carey) Everson of Clinton, Richard (Tracy) Everson of Camanche, Robert (Peggy) Everson of Clinton; 1 sister, Patsy Downs of Bradenton, Florida; 4 sons, Jesse (Erica) Everson of San Diego, California, Eric (Cheryl) Everson of Clinton, Scott of Bradenton, Florida, Brian of Des Moines; 3 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Maggie May. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Everson.Death date: Jan. 10, 2009
