Charles A. Sweeney, 57, of Clinton, died in his home Wednesday evening after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday in the Riverside Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Brewer officiating. Friend may call at the Snell-Smith Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Jackson, Ervin Nixon, Eugene Krava, Lloyd Graham, Delbert Thomsen and Harold Walker. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park.

Mr. Sweeney was born Oct 17, 1910 in Bushnell, IL, the son of Fred and Molly Swartz Sweeney. He married Arla Keeley on Sep 1, 1940 in Clinton. He lived in Clinton most of his life. He worked for 26 years at Curtis Co. and had been employed at the Clinton Job Corps center.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Donald of Skokie, IL, Francis G. of San Diego, CA and Richard of Clinton; two grandchildren and three brothers, George of Clinton, Lester of Camanche and Harry of San Diego. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
