The Clinton Herald Thursday May 14, 1942 p. 5 Funeral services for Clyde Hobein, 53, who died Monday in Mercy hospital in Chicago following a few days' illness, were held at 1 o'clock this afternoon in the Shadduck funeral home. The Rev. E.E. Clements of Lyons Methodist church officiated. Pallbearers were Charles Overkamp, Walter Bockel, Roy Mousel, A.L. Feddersen and Louis Strathman. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. Present at the service were Louis Strathman of Davenport; Mrs. Kitty Buck, Mrs. Ella Martin and Mrs. Pierce of Chicago. Clyde, son of Charles and Belle Stevenson Hobein, was born in the old town of Lyons and spent the early part of his life here, then going to Chicago to reside. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Irene Finley of Phoenix, Ariz., and an aunt, Mrs. Ella Martin, of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Miss Irene Hobein.
