SAVANNA, Ill. — Charles W. Paisley, 72, of Savanna, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at his home following a brief illness.Mr. Paisley was born June 18, 1936, in Hanover the son of Wyman D. and Emily (Bingham) Paisley. He was united in marriage to Judy Marlene Smith on October 5, 1975, in Savanna. He was a member of the Savanna Moose for over 30 years and enjoyed playing cards. Charlie was a conductor with Canadian Pacific Railroad for 30 years retiring March 31, 1999, and was a member of the Savanna American Legion. He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps.Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Savanna; a daughter, Emily (Jim) Onnen of Blytheville, Arkansas; 3 sons, Jonathan (Darci) Paisley of Morrison, Charles W. (Teresa) Paisley Jr. of Thomson, and Harmon Paisley of Sandwich; a stepson, John Henry Yenney of Spring Hill, Kansas; 2 sisters, Betty Droster of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, and Bev (Jerico) Haiar of Sabula, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.Cremation rites have been accorded and private family services were held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Mercy Hospice in his memory. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1601 16th Avenue, Fulton, (815) 589-9992.Death date: Dec. 2, 2008
