The Clinton Herald Tuesday June 11, 1985 p. 12 The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Pape Funeral Home for Walter A. Arlen, 59, of Denver, formerly of Clinton, who died Monday in Denver. The Rev. E.J. Weeg, Church of the Visitation, Camanche, will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be William Blinkinsop, Donald King, Edward Meeker, Gail Ryner, Duane Lord, Orville Crowley, and Robert Dalrumple. Mr. Arlen was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Clinton, to Walter E. and Margaret Luckish Arlen. He married JoAnn O'Brien, May 14, 1948, in Clinton. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and Iowa State University. Mr. Arlen was employed as a civil engineer. He was a World War II veteran; former vice president of Ringland, Johnson and Crowley Construction Company, Clinton; and a major in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Arlen was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, Clinton American Legion Post 190, Clinton Moose Lodge, a former member of Clinton Jaycees and past president of Clinton Builder's Club. Survivors include his wife of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Pohl and Mrs. Debra Meeker, both of Clinton, two sons, Stephen of Clinton and Mark of Milwaukee, Wis.; eight grandchildren; his mother of Clinton; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Irene O'Brien of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his father.
