Word was received from the Iowa Soldiers Home at Marshalltown, last Thursday of the death of Comrade George W. Patch.

For years Mr. Patch was a resident of McGregor, going to the Soldiers' Home about three years ago. He fought valiantly in the Civil War, through two enlistments.

He was in his 91st year. Mr. Patch's wife died many years ago. Two daughters survive him, Mrs. Emma Merritt and Miss Mattie Patch (Wetzel).

The funeral was held in Marshalltown, the remains being interred with military honors in the Soldiers Cemetery where sleep hundreds of our country's defenders.
