DIED - In McGregor, September 18, 1882, Mrs. Ellner Watson, aged 54 years and 9 month.

Mrs. Watson was born in England and came to this country at an early age. She married William Watson, in Wisconsin, in 1849. The family came to McGregor in 1857; here Mr. Watson died Oct 17th, 1868.

Eleven children were the fruit of this marriage, five of whom preceeded the parents to the grave. A brother of Mrs. Watson resides in New York, engaged in the store of A.T. Stewart & Co.; he was here but a few weeks ago, but unable to remain longer away from his business, hence returned, though not unaware of the fact that his sister was surely approaching the end of an interesting life.

Mrs. Watson was a woman given with many excellent qualities, a member of the Congregational church, united to her family in the earnest desire for their welfare, her home made cheerful and pleasant in these latter years.

Just as she was prepared for the enjoyment of home life, she was siezed [sic] with an ailment that has confined her to her bed for the past year, and finally resulted in the severance of all earthly ties, to be reunited with the husband and children in the land of promise.

The funeral occurred yesterday afternoon, by Rev. C.C. Cragin, and was largely attended by sympathizing friends of the family.

Undertaker O.C. Buck had charge of the funeral arrangements. The casket was of Burr-Walnut, with textal trimmings and textal plate, bearing the name, age and date of death.
