DIED - On the 20th inst., of Chronic Diarrhea, Carrie, Daughter of L.R. & Harriet Gilbert, aged 1 year, 3 months and 11 days.

Darling one we'll not forget thee
Not forget thee, dearest one.
For too oft our hearts have met thee
Round our hearth ere thou wert gone.
Rest thee, loved one, Angels bless thee,
Keep thee in their fostering care.
Gather round thee and cares thee
Lead thee on from Star to Star.
Monona, Oct 23d, 1868

Note: Assumed burial in the Monona cemetery, where her father Lovell R. Gilbert was buried in 1877.
