DROWNED - On Saturday last John J. Watts aged 39, and Alis Egert aged 30, both of North McGregor, were in a sailboat opposite that place and near the centre of the river when the boat capsized and both were drowned.

On Sunday morning both the McGregor towns were out in search of the bodies and about noon they were recovered near the place where they were seen to go down.

We have no farther particulars.
