Elkader Weekly Register, 23 Dec. 1886. Osterdock column.

Death once more visited the home of Mr. Snyder, taking therefrom at this calling his beloved wife. This is indeed sad to contemplate as Mr. Snyder seems to be getting more than his share of affliction. But, why should we judge, as that Providential caller chooses those who are best prepared to meet their final destiny. She leaves a husband and several small children to mourn her loss. They have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.
