Mrs. Maria Davis, wife of Freeman Davis, died on Friday evening, March 12th, 1886, after a long and painful sickness, aged 32 years. Mr. and Mrs. Davis moved to this place from Missouri last summer. She was a devout member of the M. E. church. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and a kind mother. The oldest child, aged 14, is with its grandmother in Missouri, but the others are here.
Mr. Davis is quite sick with a fever, and was unable to attend the funeral, which occurred on Sunday, Rev. Ballou officiating.
