Elkader Register, 16 Dec. 1881.

Thomas Wier died very suddenly Monday morning. He got up feeling somewhat unwell, but went around going out of doors, where he was found dead a few minutes later. The funeral took place Wednesday, the remains being interred in the Wooldridge cemetery.

Note: In the Asbury cemetery (aka Wooldridge cemetery) is a gravestone for John Thomas Weir, s/o David. The DOD is no longer legible, but more than likely is for the man named in the death notice. Verification is appreciated.
