DIED.
Saturday, Oct. 08th, of typhoid fever, Doratha Kaefer; aged 60 years and 2 months. Mrs. Kaefer was born in Hanover, Germany, and came to this country in 1838, making her first home in Dubuque. From there she came to Elkport, about 25 years ago, and has since resided at this place. She was a sister of the late Mr. Hartge and was married to Mr. Kaefer in 1844, and for thirty-seven years they have lived happily together. Mrs. Kaefer was a woman highly respected for her many good qualities, was a devoted member of the Catholic church. She leaves a husband and eight grown children to mourn the loss of a dear companion and a kind mother. The funeral took place Monday, the remains being followed to their last resting place by a large number of friends, Rev. Coyle, officiating. The family have the sympathy of hosts of friends in their sad affliction.
