Elkader Register, 29 July 1881.

DIED.

On Wednesday evening, July 27th, 1881, of cholera infantum, James Garfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Dunn, Elkader; aged 8 months and 25 days.

He was the youngest child and the darling of the family, and his death will cast a dark shadow of sorrow over that happy home, not easily to be dispelled.

The funeral occurred this morning at ten o'clock, his remains being followed to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery, by large numbers of friends and relatives of the family.

-James has a gravestone in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Elkader
