Elkader Register, 01 July 1881.

Francis Joseph Dunnigan, son of John and Agnes Dunnigan, of Osborne, died on the 25th of June, of dysentery, at the tender age of seven months. The funeral was held at Dubuque, June 27th. He was the only child, and great is the load of sorrow his loving parents carry in their heart. He has gone to join the heavenly band, and

"Not as a child shall we again behold him;
For when with raptures wild
In our embraces we again uphold him,
He will not be a child;

But a fair youth in his Father's mansion,
Clothed with celestial grace;
And beautiful with all the soul's expansion,
Shall we behold his face."
