Elkader Register, 23 Dec. 1881.

Sophia D. Schroeder, of Garnavillo, died on the 13th inst., after a short illness. She was born in Germany in 1808, and came to the United States in 1846.

She leaves two grown children to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate mother. She was buried at Garnavillo, on the 15th inst., Rev. F. W. Seifert, of Clayton Center, officiating. The funeral was very largely attended.
