Elkader Register, 16 Feb. 1883.

After a lingering illness of many weeks duration, Mrs. Margaret Kelleher, wife of Matthias Kelleher, died at her home in Read township, on last Sabbath morning, February 11th, 1883. Lung disease and advanced age had made deceased an invalid for years, but resolution and kindly care had buoyed her up, until finally, nature gave way and her spirit passed to that bourne from whence no weary traveler ever returns.

Her age was 55 years; born in Tipperary, Ireland, she emigrated to America, and for several years resided in Memphis, Tennessee, with her husband, Mr. (looks like Listen) by whom she had three children.

Having lost her first husband, she married to Matthias Kelleher in (looks like 1863), since which she has resided in Read township. One child only has come to bless the last union.

Deceased was beloved and respected by a large number of friends, who sincerely mourn the loss of a kind friend and a woman of noble attributes of character.

The last sad rites of interment were performed on Tuesday, at the Garnavillo Catholic cemetery, where a large concourse of neighbors assembled to consign the body to its last resting place. The loss is a sad one, and the stricken family have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
