Elkader Register, 07 Sept. 1883.

Gerhardt Henry Walke, one of the old residents of our county died at his home near Ceres, on the 27th ult., at the advanced age of 63 years. He was a native of the kingdom of Hanover, and had resided in this county since 1854. He leaves two sons and two daughters to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent parent.
