Elkader Register, 24 Mar. 1882.

Susan Sleth, an unmarried woman, 37 years of age, died at the county poor house on the 19th inst., after a long and painful sickness. She was formerly a resident of Volga township.

Note: Clayton County Register of Deaths, Book 1, pg 22 names her as Susan Schlett, age 35. Had been a resident of the poor house for 9 yrs. Burial is in the county cemetery
