DIED - At McGregor, Saturday, June 2d, of Typhoid Fever, Maggie, eldest daughter of Daniel McGrath of Mazomania [sic].

The deceased was about 18 years of age. She was well known to many families of this city, and was a universal favorite among her acquaintances. She died at the house of W. McCulloch, where every attention was rendered that affection could bestow.

It was a sad sight on Sunday morning to see the coffin of the daughter in a bus, awaiting shipment across the river, and in the same bus the solitary form of her aged father (84 years) with weeping eyes bent on the casket which contained his idol! There were friends near by, but the two were alone when we first saw them.

Amid the noise of business life, the landing of emigrant teams, the bustle of passengers and the cries of hackmen, the body of the young girl was taken aboard the ferry steamer to be transported by rail from Pr. du Chien to Mazomanie. May the Father of all cheer the heart of the aged parent.
