Mrs. G.S.C. Scott died Jan. 12, 1910 at the home of her daughter Mrs. E.G. Fisher of Minneapolis. Jennetta Moore was born in Montgomery, Ala., Oct. 31, 1824. She was married to G.S.C. Scott Feb. 27, 1844 in Clarksville, Ark., at the home of her sister Mrs. Jacob Rogers.

In the summer of 1856, with 5 small children, they came by boat from New Orleans to McGregor where Mr. Scott engaged in the crockery business.

There were nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Scott, six of whom survive her; Wm. A., of Chicago; Eugene C. of Milwaukee; Homer J. of Minneapolis; Mrs. Lizzie S. Galland of Chicago; Mrs. Josephine S. Fisher of Minneapolis and Miss Anne M. Scott of Chicago. One daughter Harriet died in infancy. Mrs. Martha J. Andrick died in Mason City June 28th, 1904. Jacob G. Scott died in St. Paul Dec. 28, 1908.

Mrs. Scott lived in McGregor at the old home after Mr. Scott's death, Mar. 7, 1903, util two years ago when, she with two of her daughters moved to Chicago. On Jan. 2, 1910 she went with Mr. and Mrs. Fisher to Minneapolis, her other home as she always called it.

Grandma Scott will be long remembered from the oldest citizen to the smallest child who knew her, for to know her was to love her. Her bright happy manner always striving to make every one comfortable. Her genuine hospitality in her home and her readiness to help others less fortunate in life than herself are among the virtues that ennobled her life and imprint the memory of Grandma Scott enduringly on the hearts of McGregor friends.

She was one of those Southern peeress we seldom meet in our western homes and was one of McGregor's treasured aristocrats. The loss of the Scott family is a grievous one to McGregor both in business and social circles.
