Elkader Semi-Weekly Register, Tuesday, 06 May 1884.

Sebastian Eckert, of Guttenberg, fell down stairs on Saturday night last, either in a fit of palsy, or by an attack of heart disease, and died on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. He was about 45 years of age, a machinist by trade, and highly respected by all. The funeral occurs to-day, and will be under the auspices of the G.A.R., of which he is a member.
