The sad intelligence of the death of Miss Amelia Alwes, oldest daughter of Mrs. Helmuth Brandt, will be read with sad hearts by her many friends. She died at the early age of nineteen, of consumption, and the large concourse in attendance at her funeral, on Sunday, testified not only to the love and esteem for the departed, but also the sympathy for the bereaved survivors in their irreparable loss. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Stor_cke, of the Lutheran church.

Burial is in the Garnavillo Community cemetery. Gravestone = Emilie Wilhelmina Aulwes
