Funeral services for Earl Elmer McNeal were conducted Monday, Nov. 22, 1954, with the Rev. F. W. Tillmanns of Elkport officiating.
Earl Elmer McNeal, son of the late Ruben and Ella (Goff) McNeal, was born July 14, 1895, in Menard county, Ill.
On Nov. 29, 1913, he was united in marriage to Olga Louise Hitzman at Clayton, Mo. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy Marie) Rizer of Edgewood, Mrs. Ralph (Eileen Ruth) Kuehl of Elkader and Ernest McNeal of Garber.
Mr. McNeal died Nov. 19, at the University hospital in Iowa City, from a heart condition. His health had been failing the past five or six years. He was a retired farmer. He had lived at Campbell Hill, Ill., Des Moines, Manchester, Lamont, Greeley, Edgewood and Elkport, and near Garber, where he had lived since 1951.
Survivors are his wife, the children, Mrs. Carl Rizer, Mrs. Ralph Kuehl and Ernest McNeal, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Harry C. McNeal of Des Plaines, Ill., William Edwin McNeal of Carbondale, Ill., three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Graham of Carbondale, Ill., Mrs. Mary White of Batesville, Ark., and Mrs. Marie Sanders of University City, Mo.
Burial was made in Hansel cemetery near Garber with the Witt funeral home of Elkader in charge.
Pallbearers were: Anton Smith, Joe Collins, Arno Gottschalk, Marcus Connley, Carter Smith and Cedric Hansel.
