'Elsie Viola Yohe died Sunday morning, Nov. 28, 1954, at a nursing home in Waukon, Iowa. She had been ill for quite some time. Cause of death was a heart ailment.
Alice Viola Luther was born to Addis and Ella Luther, Sept. 14, 1891, in La Crescent, Minn. On June 29, 1910, she was married to George Yohe. In 1917 they moved to Clayton where they spent their lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1936 and her father, Addis Luther, in 1947.
Survivors are six children: Mrs. Arnold (Phyllis) Schute, Clayton; Morrell Yohe, Waterville; Mrs. Henry (Irene) Freese, Waterville; Eugene Yohe, Waukon; Donald Yohe, Waterville; and Mrs. Kenneth (Katherine) Clefisch, McGregor; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 30, at the Peace Lutheran church in Clayton. The Rev. J. Pannkuk conducted services. Burial was in Clayton cemetery.
Pallbearers were her three sons, Morrell, Eugene and Donald, and her sons-in-law, Arnold Schute, Henry Freese and Kenneth Clefisch.
