STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services for Frederick George Rebaschus, 75, were held at the Gill funeral chapel in Strawberry Point on Tuesday afternoon, October 19, with the Rev. S. J. Meyer officiating. Interment was in the Strawberry Point cemetery. Mr. Rebaschus died at 5:00 a.m. Sunday at the Mental Health Institute at Independence, where he had been a patient for the past two and one-half years. Death was attributed to cerebral thrombosis.
Frederick George Rebaschus was born in the St. Sebald community north of Strawberry Point on June 20, 1879, the son of Frederick and Mary Auchun Rebaschus. On Feb. 17, 1903 he was united in marriage with Amelia Gipper at Hawkeye, Iowa. He was a member of the Lutheran church and worked for many years until his retirement as a section hand on the Milwaukee railroad.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Delia) Schofield, Strawberry Point; a sister, Mrs. Francis Allen, Davenport; a brother, Emil Rebaschus, Fresno, Calif., and a half-sister and a half-brother, Mrs. August Fliehler and Ed Donath, both of Strawberry Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two sisters and two brothers.
