Funeral services for Joseph F. Godden were held Monday, September 06, 1954, at the Witt funeral home at two o'clock, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was at Mt. Harmony cemetery at Elkport.

Joseph F. Godden, the son of Thomas Godden and his wife Eurelia, was born July 25, 1876, in Elk township, Clayton county, Iowa. He died at the Davis nursing home, Strawberry Point, September 03, 1954, at the age of seventy-eight years, one month and eight days.

He spent his entire life in Clayton county and was a farmer. During his active days he operated the threshing machine in his ring.

The only survivors are nieces and nephews.
