Funeral services for Roy Walter were held Friday, July 02, at the Witt funeral home with the Rev. J. H. Zerhusen officiating. Burial was in the United Brethren cemetery. Pallbearers were: Glen Walter, Clifford Walter, Elmer Walter, and John Rugland.
Roy Stanley Walter, son of George and Leah (Rodammer) Walter was born Feb. 20, 1884 in Wagner township, Clayton county, Iowa, at a place known as Walter Mill. He attended the rural schools. He was a farmer. He had been sick for about five years with a heart ailment and died June 29, 1954, at the age of 70 years, 09 months and 04 days at the Clayton County home.
Mr. Walter is survived by a daughter Leah Marie Walter, Los Angeles, Calif.; two nephews, Elmer Walter, Cedar Rapids, and Homer Walter of Union Grove, Wis., a great niece, Dawn Walter and sister-in-law Mrs. Anna Walter, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Guy Walter.
