Louie Ernest Kutzbach, son of Henry and Wilhelmina, nee Meier, Kutzbach, was born July 29, 1890, near Farmersburg, Iowa. After he had grown to manhood he became a farmer, farming at first with his brother on the home place and then farming for himself on the farm west of the home place. During this time he also worked at the carpenter trade during his spare time. He retired from the farm in December of 1953 and made his home in Farmersburg, where he devoted his entire time to the carpenter trade.

He died very suddenly last Sunday morning in the McGregor hospital, at the age of 63 years, nine months and three days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three half-sisters, and one half-brother.

He is survived by one half-brother, Charles Benzing of Williams, Minn.; one half-sister, Mrs. Emma Kuthe of Monona; two brothers, Ernest of Elma, and Henry of Farmersburg; five sisters, Mrs. Lena Hoth of Waubay, S.Dak; Mrs. Minnie Kluth, Monona, Mrs. Amelia Heins and Mrs. Adele Heins, Luana, and Mrs. Sophie Benzing of Calmar. Nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 06, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church, Farmersburg, with the Rev. R. H. Steege, pastor officiating. Burial was at F and W cemetery.
