Leonard Fred Weig, 56, died at his farm home near here Sunday morning at 1:30. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Born Feb. 24, 1898, at Strawberry Point, he was the son of Ferdinand and Katie (Miller) Weig. On Feb. 06, 1924 he was married to Marie Gerdes in Strawberry Point. They lived on the present farm for 28 years. Mr. Weig was a member of the Lutheran church, and his hobby was shop work.
Funeral services were held May 11, at 1:30 at the Gill chapel in Strawberry Point and at 2:00 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran church. Interment was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Weig of Strawberry Point, one daughter, Mrs. Paul Streicher (Delva) of Lamont, Iowa, one son Kenneth at home, one sister, Mrs. Fred Birrer (Alice) and one brother, Alfred, all of Strawberry Point.
