PETER EWALD WILHELM
STRAWBERRY POINT: Ewald Wilhelm 53, died at his home in Strawberry Point Friday evening, April 23 at 6:45 p.m. after a long illness. Death was attributed to cancer.
Born Oct. 02, 1900, at New Vienna, Iowa, he was the son of Frank and Anna (Schmidt) Wilhelm. On Oct. 01, 1928, he was married to Donna Jessen of Strawberry Point at Manchester. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the Holy Name society. His hobbies were hunting and fishing and his life interest was his family.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, April 26, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's church in Strawberry Point and burial was at the Catholic cemetery at Strawberry Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and one son Glenn. He is survived by his wife, Donna Ruth Wilhelm, and seven children: Dorothy Donna, Carol Lee, Robert, Ronald, Anna Lou, Keith, and Christine; also three sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Lena Huberty, Mrs. H. J. Wieneke, Mrs. Ray Link, Clem Wilhelm and Henry Wilhelm, all of Dyersville, and Ben and Joe Wilhelm of Blairstown.
