Services for George Bauer who died at a Prairie du Chien hospital after a long illness, were held from the Tuecke funeral home in Garnavillo to St. Joseph's Catholic church Friday morning at 9:20.

The Rev. L. Iekel celebrated the mass and officiated at burial in St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers were: Christ Bauer, Walter Bauer, Rudy Kainz, Edmund Eggerth, Ernest Kainz and Laurence Matt.

Born April 05, 1871, the son of Christ and Anna Bauer, he spent all his life on a farm near Garnavillo.

Surviving are two brothers, Joseph and Frank, one sister, Mrs. John (Emily) Kainz, and fourteen nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bauer, Joe Bauer, North Buena Vista; Mrs. Max Opitz and Harry Opitz, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Erma Geiger, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Becker and Ernest Kainz, Dyersville.
