Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Spiker were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Peace Lutheran church at Clayton by Pastor J. A. Pannkuk. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God Will Take Care of You," were sung by Mrs. Oscar H__g_r and Mrs. Dulu__ ___p__. Burial was at Clayton cemetery. Pallbearers were: D__n Jones, Ray Dr_er, Frank Schultz, A. M. Adams, Frank L__rveld and John Bock.

Ethel Leonna Spiker was born at Fairfield, Iowa, May 22, 1881, the daughter of Perry and Susan Nott. She was united in marriage with John Wm. Spiker of Wapello, Iowa on Oct. 09, 189_. To this union were born 15 children.

Mrs. Spiker spent most of her life in southeastern Iowa. The past seven years she lived in Clayton, making her home with her daughter, Edna. She was baptized on __n. 17, 19_1, and thus became a baptized member of the Lutheran church of _____, Clayton, Iowa.

Mrs. Spiker's health had been failing for sometime. She died last Tuesday morning at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 30 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, five children, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include Edna, James and Maude (Mrs. Jim Lewis) all of Clayton; Francis of Elkader; Walter, Ross, Albert, Florence (Mrs. Elmer Dray) all of Keokuk; Margaret (Mrs. Douglas Renken) and Verna (Mrs. Fred Frieden) ____ of Kehoka, Mo.; 21 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harve Ash___ of Wapello and Mrs. M. P. Ande___ of New Orleans, La.; one brother, Harry No__ of Wapello; besides other relatives and a host of friends.
