Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Elkader, for Mrs. Mayme McGee, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. D. A. Gorman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McGee died at St. Francis hospital, Waterloo, Saturday evening, Dec. 15, at 6:00 p.m., where she had been a patient for the past five months.
Mayme Maley, daughter of Kathryn and Michael Maley, was born April 09, 1885, at Elkader, Iowa. She was married to John McGee, Elkader, on Sept. 21, 1915. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1938.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Carnes (Mary Kay), Elkader, and one son, John F. McGee, Waterloo; two sisters, Miss Nell Maley and Mrs. Margaret Hyde, both of Elkader. One brother preceded her in death, John Maley, June 28, 1946. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
Mrs. McGee was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church, the Catholic Order of Lady Foresters, and St. Joseph's Guild.
Out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the services were: Frank Wiley, Cedar Rapids; John Wiley, Edgewood; Leonard Wiley, Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rothmeyer, Milwaukee, Wis.; and Dan and Irving Raftis, Oelwein.
