Services were held Sunday, Dec. 09, at 2 p.m. in the St. Paul's Lutheran church at Garnavillo for Christopher Marting, 88, who died Thursday, Dec. 06, at the home of his son Vincent, near St. Olaf.

Mr. Marting was born Jan. 19, 1868, near Farmersburg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Marting, and farmed in that area most of his life.

He first married Amanda Hamann, who died in childbirth. In 1904 he married Minnie Milewsky.

Survivors are two sons, Merrill of Garnavillo and Vincent of St. Olaf; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Kirsten of McGregor; and four grandchildren.
